Recycled polystyrene
We contribute to lowering global warming by using recycled polystyrene. All our products are manufactured partially from recycled polystyrene.
Polystyrene is a very versatile thermoplastic or polymer and is among the most heavily used plastics. Foamed polystyrene is familiar to consumers as foam cups and containers, protective packaging and building insulation. Polystyrene is also widely used in other packaging and foodservice products, such as trays, disposable plates and cutlery.
Because it is among the most commonly used plastics, concern has emerged about the environmental impact of disposal methods for polystyrene such as landfills and incineration, as well as concerns about recycling with petroleum derived solvents.
We have developed a completely new system for recycling polystyrene using a natural solvent, methyl soyate. When we recycle polystyrene, we reduce CO2 emissions; enhance the effective use of limited natural resources; and free precious landfill space.
Together, our efforts to use the earth's resources more efficiently can help to minimize our impact on the planet. Wherever it makes environmental and economic sense, we try to recover the value of discarded polystyrene through recycling.
We share your concerns about solid waste and the conservation of natural resources.
